The Prison
I am in a prison like no other
without mother or brother
to comfort me.
The grass is no longer green,
my senses are no longer keen.
The hot iron fences are closing
in on me,
enemies are posing as friends,
so that they can drag me
deeper
into this pit of despair.
Only one can help me,
only one in this universe,
Jesus is my only hope,
my only one at all.
He will call me out of this place,
and not let me fall.
He will take me from this fiery
lake,
for His name's sake.
